Woman E, named after the dominatrix in the famous court case of Max Mosley against the News Of The World, are Ria Berlin a Londoner with South African roots and Berlin Producer, Songwriter/DJ Oovermatic. Now both based in London, the past year saw them release singles Few and Far Between and Another Renaissance, which saw them garner attention from the likes of Mixmag, Popjustice, Gay Times to name a few. Furthermore Few and Far Between made it into the new film of Oscar nominee Yorgos Lanthimos.
Imagine Kylie kissing Kraftwerk in a bed of subversive big chorus pop. That is Desire, and essentially that is Woman E. This band aspires to make pop music with substance and Desire is more inward looking than your typical chart stormer. It describes the dilemma of someone who has found their vocation only to suffer pain and isolation in the pursuit of it.
The release features remixes by Aaron Ross of Defected Records and critically acclaimed electro pop outfit Oblong as well as an Oovermatic Remix ft. Disco Damage.
The video it's a homage to their favourite film director and all round inspiration, David Lynch and it will premiere on i-D Online in January 2012.
