Raff - SOUL ELECTRIC
"SOUL ELECTRIC"
by Raff
Release 5th August
Initially seduced by the sounds of classic soul artists like Aretha Franklin and Stevie Wonder, Raff now fuses his love of soul with an addictive, fist-pumping electro sound for a modern audience. A fast rising talent with a knack for delivering top notch electro-pop-soul, Raff is quite simply all about electro with added soul.
Blending his powerful and soaring soul vocals with an addictive and anthemic electropop backbone, Raff's new EP, released on burgeoning London imprint Aztec Records, displays just what a dynamic talent this Scot / Italian is. ‘Soul Electric’ sees Raff combining his organic vocals with his uplifting electropop heart to create an addictive slice of danceable pop. Bristling with energy and power, this will tear up the dancefloor whilst still sounding great at home. He sings with a natural ease that subsequently gets swept away with the beat and taken on a rip-roaring ride through the flames of burning electro.
Alongside the title track, Raff includes another tight electro-pop jam in ‘Dead Love Junkie.’ His spirited vocals join forces with a driving beat, classy keys and an astute understanding of melodies to form a truly catchy pop tune. The third original track on the EP comes in the form of an acoustic version of his epic ode to Club Kids, ‘Freak.’ Here Raff shows there's genuine talent behind this slice of slick pop, proving that he is as comfortable behind a pumping synth line as he is on stage with just a guitar and his own voice. Alongside remixes from Dead Love Junkies and Jon Pleased Wimmin, ‘Soul Electric’ is set to initiate Raff’s one-man assault on the worlds of pop, soul and dance.
